In his series "Half-Drag," artist Leland Bobbé photographed drag queens, choosing to accentuate the people behind the make up. The men pictured appear with only half of their cosmetics on, creating a stark juxtaposition between clean-faced individual and eye shadowed diva. Bobbé's images offer social commentary on modern social paradigms, such as gender identity and gender roles, by bringing to light normative ideas on gender-based beauty.
