Joanne Nam's paintings are eerie in their stillness yet absorbing in their color palettes and the artists treatment of paint. I am absolutely enamored by her depiction of tree bark (above) and engrossed by her subject matter's longing, thoughtful glances. Something about the quietness of Nam's work sparks reflection and lends these paintings towards a kind of halcyon ambiance.
