Simon Birch's series, "Series One," is made up of a multitude of energetic paintings. The artist's geometric and linear style allude towards emotional trauma and stress, as his subjects seem to be caught whipping their bodies round dramatically or thrusting their hands in the air. Even the artist's layering of color seems to be suggestive of something fleeting, whether that "something" be the hazy impression of transient limbs or transient thoughts.
