Fashion Victims. |
Spanish artist Yolanda Dominguez recently addressed the horrific accident that occurred in Bangladesh where upwards of 1,000 textile workers were killed when a garment factory collapsed. The artist had women lie under piles of rubble and fashion accessories around Madrid's Gran Via shopping street. Dominguez dubbed the performative series, "Fashion Victims." According to It's Nice That, the artist described the work as “…an appeal for responsible production and consumption, both for people and the planet.” She went on to claim that “Brands, designers, bloggers, media, the fashion world cannot dodge the facts and look the other way. We are all responsible for this reality.”
