Eyes as Big as Plates.

"Eyes as Big as Plates" began in 2011 as a photographic series depicting the characters and protagonists of Norwegian folklore. However, as the years have progressed the series has come to encompass not only Norwegian legends, but the mental landscape of Finnish people as well. The artists behind "Eyes as Big as Plates," Riita Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth, first gathered sailors, farmers, professors, teachers, and elderly Norwegians, adorning them in natural material to emulate fables. Later, the two employed Finnish octogenarians to model in the rich southern and eastern wilderness. The series is still in process, so keep your eyes peeled for future installation of "Eyes as Big as Plates."
