Weddings are a dime a dozen, and that is why couples work meticulously to create a ceremonies more unique or outlandish than any they have previously attended. From the largest elements, such as the meal for guests, down to the most minute detail, like the arrangement of napkins at the reception, weddings are considered and contemplated and molded to become the husband and wife's dream ceremony. But how does one express to the guests how special, artistic, and creative their nuptial ceremony will be? With the wedding invitation. The invite to a wedding should be an enchanting call to all attendees. It must give a small taste of what is to be expected at the wedding, for instance whether the ceremony will be traditional (plain white card with elaborate script), or casual (funky postcards or DIY designs), or quirky (magnet invites). If a couple wants to go the easy route with their wedding cards, they can always settle on the ubiquitous, embossed, cream card stock. However, for Christine and Ian's wedding, they chose to take a different route. The two had designer Ian Collins create interactive wedding invites based upon the the great outdoors. Recipients received an illustrated guide to Nevada City wildlife, a graphic trail guide to the wedding, a stark white card with pop out trees, and a slice of wood to tie it all together. No doubt these lovebirds are also lovers of the wilderness, and Collins expertly tied together their alfresco wedding theme and general interest in the outdoors, to entice recipients in to attending a beautiful, unique, one-of-a-kind ceremony.
