Tom Ziebnski. |
It seems as though I've been coming across many gorgeous photographic series that focus on the figure. Take for instance Laroche's Anima, Maruyama's Nude, and Wadman's work. It is difficult to find work that depicts the human body in a fresh light. As the human form is an old subject matter, used time and time again over the past hundred years, it can be difficult to produce original work. However, these photographers, as well as Tom Ziebnski, appear to have an acute awareness to the human form. In effect, they create unique works of art. Ziebnski's series is particularly dreamlike. The images are ethereal and wispy; bodies transform in to abstract shapes or disjointed creatures. His images are, therefor, bizarre and hypnotizing.
