Everybody Loves Tank Girl.

Tank Girl is back, and she's just as sexy, profane, and outlandish as ever in the latest graphic novel, Everybody Loves Tank Girl, by Jam Mahfood and Alan C. Martin, published by Titan Books. The Australian seductress bounces across her post-apocalyptic home world, visiting Hippie Fest, running in to the Wee Wee Brothers, giving a tour of her home (aka her tank), etc.
The book begins with a perfect introduction by "Dr. Tank Girl" and "Dr. Booga." The characters write:

Is life looking pretty fuckin' strange from where you're standing? Do you keep getting that hollow feeling, deep down in the bottom of your soul? Are you drowning in a sea of idiocy…Tired of banging your head against the wall of human stupidity?
We thought so.
Be calm. We're here to help….
After years of study and research in monk-like seclusion, we have managed to break these problems down in their fundamental, component parts.
This book represents a catalogue of our findings, and, in most cases, gives remedies and exercises to hep relieve the pressures and abrasions of living in the modern Western World.
You hold in your hands a soothing balm for weary woulds. Rub it where it hurts.

It is true that life can be a bit disenchanting. We are living in a world full of problems such as overpopulation, starvation, hunger, littering, lack of water, undistributed wealth, poverty, etc. Thank god for Tank Girl's sarcasm and I-don't-give-a-f*** attitude. If not for her sass and feisty disposition, this world would be maddening. Tank Girl helps readers to address the stress of everyday life by allowing us to live vicariously through her. This comic becomes a nice outlet for built up frustration. Read as Tank Girl says and does all the things you wish you could, and then some.

Just in case you've never heard of Tank Girl, and are feeling a little lost in this post, let me give you a bit of a back story. She is the star character of the comic series of the same name, created in the early 90s. She is a punk-rock, apocalyptic vixen who trumps across Australia with her mutant kangaroo of a boyfriend, Booga, and finds herself caught in a variety of dangerous misadventures. You may remember way back in 1995 the Tank Girl feature length film. Booga appeared to be incredibly awkward kangaroo-dog-man hybrid, played by rapper Ice-T. Luckily the comics are no where near as…interesting as the movie was. On the contrary, the actual comic series is an innovative work of art.

Tank Girl (the comic) may be most well known for its artistic style. The overall format of the comic is unique. Rarely do the strips follow a conventional plot. Often various forms of media were used to create images and the comics seemed to manifest from an interesting read to to an exciting series of artistic expression and experimentation. The same can be said for this latest addition to the comic series. Everybody Loves Tank Girl is a highly stylized and contemporary work of comic book art. This book features a collection of hodgepodge and over the top comics that are sure to add depth to any fan's current collection, or act as a great introduction for readers who are foreign to the series.
