I don't know what is happening in Royal Canoe's "Birthday," but I do know that whatever it is, I like it. Directed by Scott Cudmore, the music video plays like a post-modernist short film complete with pastiche, magical realism, and, arguably, maximalism. Cudmore did a brilliant job creating bizarre (though conceptual) visuals to accompany Royal Canoe's peculiar and layered music. Watch below!
