Kate MccGwire , another Royal College of Art alumni (see others here), is known for her contemporary use of natural elements to create unnatural bodies of work. Though the works emulate characteristics that we, as humans, are accustomed to--such as feathers, wishbones, etc.--it is the form of her sculpture that are truly bizarre. Her sculptures lay foreign in familiar settings, like living room fireplaces and kitchens, caught in a peculiar dichotomy between reality and fantasy.
