Bernardi Roig.

Bernardi Roig human sculptures convey the complex emotions and thoughts of a society on the edge. By utilizing florescent lights and the emptiness of white, Roig literally blinds and binds his sculptures to impart the subjects' feelings of uncertainty--a state of mind the majority of us can relate to. In the biographical publication released by Claire Oliver gallery for Bernardi Roig's exhibition, Oliver explained "Roig’s individuals lose the ability to distinguish truth from fiction and important issues from trivial concerns." Of his own work, the artist himself stated, “Today we are living in an atmosphere saturated with images, but the experience that they produce has a low intensity. Now it is ever more difficult to give meaning to an image. We are subjected to light, a light that dissolves the outlines of things, a white light within which everything fluctuates.”
