If you're a New Yorker, you may be familiar with Jay Shells work. The graphic designer has made a number of street art signs, wheat pastings, and graffiti. Most recently, Shells has been adorning the city with vibrant red signs laced with hip hop quotes. The quotes, printed in stark white, are site specific installations, and are frequently placed on the streets they reference or other such areas. This seems to be an ongoing project, one you can follow via Shells twitter, The Rap Quotes.
