A Place to Gather.

 

I am just fascinated by craft and crafting. There’s something comfortable and comforting about handmade goods. A product seems especially unique when you know it was crafted by hand rather than a calculating machine. It is much easier to appreciate the perfections, and likewise imperfections, in a creation or good when you can link the creation to a human being. The short video, “A Place to Gather”, highlights these attributes of craft. For the London Design Festival, the Irish Crafts Council created this small video exhibition highlighting various modern Irish crafts-people in action throughout the country.
