Now I am not a big fan of the 3D sidewalk art craze that has
been blowing up on the Internet lately (the trompe-l’oeil craze, if you want to
get technical with it), but I couldn’t resist Marlin Peterson’s 3D street art.
Peterson was commissioned by Washing State Artist Trust to paint a mural
somewhere in the city. He couldn’t find a wall he liked, so he took to painting
on a roof. His mural is most visible from the Seattle Space Needle, thus creating an illusion
of daddy long-legs crawling atop buildings and overtaking Seattle. (via Colossal)
